CAN YOU TELL WHETHER THIS SITE WILL BE SHUT DOWN NEXT WEEK DUE TO NEGLIGENCE?

CONTRACTOR, TAKE A CLOSE LOOK AT THE PICTURE

Exactly... Environmental requirements cannot be seen with the naked eye, but their effects are critical. Work involving exposure to crystalline silica dust (= quartz) is classified as a work process that poses a risk of cancer. The legislation was reformed on 1 January 2020, and by law employers have obligations such as preventing and reducing exposure and monitoring exposure, including by measuring.

That is why we at Loopshore created technology to monitor and verify the amount of quartz dust on construction sites.

Accurate and cost-effective dust control for construction challenges:

Measuring, analysing and reporting dust with the Loopshore Loop One sensor is cost-effective and accurate. You get all the information you need easily, with continuous measurement.

Quick to deploy

The sensor works as a stand-alone unit and is ready to use at the push of a button. Data is transferred in real time to a clear cloud service for you to view.

Easy installation

The device is mounted on a special stand, so placing and moving it is effortless – which also ensures the best possible measurement results.

Long battery life

Battery powered, with an alert when the battery is running low. Without mains power the measurement cycle can be, for example, 5 minutes, and it can be adjusted as work phases change.

Ready-made reports

Easy PDF reports for the authorities. The report clearly shows, among other things, the exposure during the working day (HTP limit values). The length of the working day can be selected to the nearest 5 minutes.

Real-time HTP-8 measurement for quartz dust

Predictive estimate: Data collected from previous construction sites is used to form a statistical estimate of the likely amount of quartz dust. With this estimate and an applied safety factor, you immediately get as realistic a picture as possible of the expected quartz dust concentration. At the same time, you see a real-time visualisation of the HTP-8 value for quartz dust that combines the statistical forecast with real-time measurement data.

Air sampling and HTP-8 calculation: When the devices are installed – especially when concrete structures are being demolished or other work that releases stone dust into the air is carried out on site – an air sample is taken for quartz dust analysis. The sample is used to determine the share of quartz in the dust that enters the breathing air. When the laboratory result is ready, the Loopshore service shows a real-time HTP-8 calculation determined individually for the site.

Backed by a strong network of partners

At Loopshore we work closely with cities, authorities and research institutes to develop dust control. Our participation in expert working groups ensures that our solution supports the development of best practices in the industry and meets current and future requirements.

”At Puhdas ilmanlaatu we offer dust control solutions, especially for difficult and sensitive sites such as schools, museums, daycare centres and offices. These places are often renovated while the premises are in use, so the air must stay clean. The effectiveness of dust control is verified with Loopshore sensors. The customer sees in real time how the measurements are progressing and, if needed, gets alerts by text message and email, so it is possible to react immediately if, for example, problems arise with air purifiers or central vacuum units. Measurement sensors are available for rent, and we offer high-quality dust control products such as air purifiers and central vacuum units.

More than 20 years of experience in dust control on construction sites in Finland and Sweden has taught us to work with high quality and cost-effectively. Our services also include asbestos and hazardous substance surveys (AHA qualification) and air quality sampling (SEM), which complement our comprehensive dust control service.”

1 device – 9 data points

Thermometer, representing temperature measurement.

Temperature

The right temperature maintains a pleasant indoor climate for the people using the space.

Drop with a percent sign, representing humidity measurement.

Humidity

Optimal humidity helps prevent, among other things, viruses from spreading and microbes from multiplying.

Simple black-and-white brain pattern, representing how CO2 concentration lowers cognition.

Carbon dioxide

A low CO2 level helps you stay focused and keeps cognitive skills sharp.
